What is the link between the Aryans and Hinduism?
The ancient Aryans were a group of people who spread into northern India, bringing with them India’s caste system of hierarchical classes and the Vedic religion that shaped modern Hinduism.
Why were the Vedas so important to the Aryans?
Most of what is known about the Aryans comes from the Vedas. The Vedas are a collection of books containing prayers, songs, and other writings of the Agrans. The Aryans brought with them their own language, religious beliefs, and social system. They spoke an Indo-European language known as Sanskrit.
What is the difference between Dravidians and Aryans?
Aryans were fair skinned, tall, and spoke a different language from Dravidians who were dark, short and spoke Dravidian language. Recent excavations have proved that Aryans arrived in India much later (1500 BC) while Indian society has been divided into castes much before (around 7000 BC).
